‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ Renewed For Season 2
“A Black Lady Sketch Show” has been renewed for a second-season by HBO. The variety sketch show stars Robin Thede and is executive produced by Issa Rae’s Rae Productions banner.
Robin created, stars in, writes and exec produces with Gabrielle Dennis, Ashley Nicole Black and Quinta Brunson who co-star. The show also features a number of celebrity guests.
“It’s been thrilling to see the audience embrace the characters that Robin, Ashley, Gabrielle and Quinta have brought to life,” HBO executive vp programming Amy Gravitt said Tuesday in a statement. “We had a blast making this groundbreaking sketch show with Robin, [director] Dime [Davis] and all of the writers and producers, and I can’t wait to see what next season holds.”
A Black Lady Sketch Show will wrap its first season Sept. 6th.
