Boxer Gervonta Davis Knocks Out Yuriorkis Gamboa In 12th Round, Remains Undefeated At 23-0 [VIDEO]

Undefeated two-time super featherweight world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis, 25, won the WBA Lightweight Title in 12 rounds in his knockout victory against Yuriorkis Gamboa on Saturday night (Dec. 28th), at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Davis out-landed Gamboa 120 to 78, according to CompuBox, and connected on 48% of his power shots. He also held a firm 46-to-19 advantage in body punches.

According to reports, in Atlanta’s first title bout since Evander Holyfield-Vaughn Bean in 1998, the blockbuster professional boxing event was packed out with 14,129 fans in attendance.

For his entrance into the ring, Davis was accompanied by Atlanta rapper Lil’ Baby rapping his latest single, “Woah.”

After his fight, Davis says he would give himself an average grade for his performance on Saturday. He says,

“I believe my performance tonight was a C-plus. It was a great experience. I’m only 25 years old. I’m learning each and every day.”

Davis continues his undefeated record, currently 23-0 with 22 knockouts. He adds,

“Coming into this fight I knew Gamboa was a tough opponent. I knew he was a vet. As you see in the ring, I was catching and hurting him, but he was still there. I knew he was better than anyone I had fought before.”

Perhaps even more exciting than the boxing match was the notable celebrity attendance in the audience. From Quality Control CEO, Pierre Thomas, legendary rapper Lil’ Kim, and fellow boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather, a number of famous faces were present.

In addition, some of Atlanta’s beloved stars also packed out the arena including Nene Leakes, Toya Johnson, Kandi Burruss, Monica, Rasheeda, Tiny Harris, and Shante Brodus.
