Dame Dash Sues WeTV, Claims They Required Son Boogie Dash To Drink For ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’ Ratings
It looks like Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon “Dame” Dash is making sure his debts are paid by any means necessary. According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Dame Dash is suing the home network for “Growing Up Hip-Hop: Hollywood”, WeTV. He alleged that the network required his son, Damon “Boogie” Dash, Jr., to drink to increase ratings for the hit reality show.

The lawsuit states that WeTV made a verbal promise to Dame Dash that alcohol would be kept away from Boogie during filming, due to his reported issues with substance abuse. As we previously reported, Boogie was arrested for a DUI in 2016. Dame claims that he and his family have suffered emotional distress due to the breaking of the agreement.

Dame Dash, who is an executive producer on the show, also claims that he hasn’t been paid for his appearances on “Growing Up Hip-Hop.” Though he admits courts have ordered his wages be diverted to his creditors, he claims WeTV is withholding the cash.
WeTV, Dame Dash, nor Boogie Dash have commented on the lawsuit as of yet.
This lawsuit comes after he opened up about being arrested for back child support just before Thanksgiving last year.
He came for his critics and said,
“They never talk about the fact that I’ve owned a $100 million company for the last 10 years. They don’t talk about my television network, 24 hours, independent. Or Dame Dash studios streaming service… independent. They never talk about those things. That’s what I’m curious about, that narrative… Why is the narrative always I’m broke? When the President owes money it don’t mean s***, he gets elected. When I’m a businessman, I’m independent, I cut checks, and I make sure everyone knows it… But y’all don’t talk about that. And that’s what I wanna know. Is it because I’m Black? A Black man can’t take care of other people without being broke or independent?”
He added,
“I went to turn myself in. What money? I already paid it. And I still walked in with cuffs. But I look good though so it doesn’t matter.”
He also openly blasted a lawyer who’s representing a photographer in her sexual assault lawsuit against Dame Dash.
