L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey’s Husband Pulls Gun On #BlackLivesMatter Protestors Who Showed Up At Their Home

The District Attorney for L.A. County, Jackie Lacey, is clearing the air after her husband pulled a gun on Black Lives Matter protestors who were at their home. According to reports, the protestors wanted to confront Jackie Lacey for her rulings in previous cases. They had already reportedly gone to her office and headed to her Granada Hills home early Monday morning (March 2). Jackie Lacey and her husband, David, were sleeping when the protestors rang the doorbell. Jackie Lacey said he went to go check on who it was and

“came back up and said there are protesters outside of the house. I pulled my gun and I asked them to leave.”

In a clip shared by Black Lives Matter LA, the man says,

“I will shoot you. Get off my porch.”

Someone then appears to ask,

“Can you tell Jackie Lacey that we’re here?”

He reportedly responded,

“I don’t care who you are, get off my porch.”

I’m front of DA Jackie Lacey’s house for that community meeting she promised with the @BLMLA crew. Rang her bell to invite her.

Melina Abdullah, a Black Lives Matter organizer who was present at the incident said,

“We heard a gun cock inside, but thought we were being paranoid.”

Jackie has since broken her silence and said,

“We expect that people will exercise their First Amendment right, but our home is our sanctuary. This is not the first time this has happened.”

As for her husband’s actions, she added,

“He meant no one any harm. I just want to live in peace and do my job…

She continued,

“All of this is because I chose to do my job. I’m a human being. I’m a public servant.”

She said she’s been open about meeting with protestors, but preferred to do it with a small group of people or even one-on-one.

She’s currently up for re-election after being elected D.A. in 2012 and re-elected in 2016.
