Charges have been dropped against Canarsie, Brooklyn-born rapper Pop Smoke who was fatally shot and killed inside a multi-million dollar home in the Hollywood Hills earlier this year. The 20-year-old rapper, whose real name is Bashar Jackson, was previously charged with transporting a stolen Rolls Royce across state lines.

Charges were dropped against Pop Smoke on Monday (April 20). An official said the owner of the 2019 Rolls-Royce Wraith, which is worth $375,000, lent Pop Smoke the car to use in a music video in Los Angeles in January. The car was supposed to be returned the next day, but it was not, so the owner reported it stolen to the LAPD. A source told WABC New York that the car was driven across the country on a flatbed and was located outside of the rapper’s home in Brooklyn.
It was previously reported that the rapper was shot and killed in a robbery gone wrong in February. According to law enforcement, Pop Smoke was inside a Hollywood Hills home rented from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave.
