TV power couple – producers/writers Salim and Mara Brock Akil – are hanging in there after a rocky few years of controversy surrounding their marriage. Twenty-one years after tying the knot in 1999, Mara Brock Akil recently took to Instagram posting cozy poolside photos with her husband to wish him a happy anniversary. She included this sweet caption, alluding to their canceled OWN hit show, “Love Is__:”

Mara Brock Akil, then, posted a photo smiling with her husband and their sons. Her caption read:

Speaking of “Love Is __,” the show – based on Salim’s and Mara’s love story – was canceled after just one season in 2018 after detailed allegations of Salim Akil reportedly had an abusive extramarital affair with actress Amber Dixon Brenner. He vehemently denied the claims.

Nearly a year later, Mara Brock-Akil posted a rare photo with her husband, cementing her stance on the rumored affair. Last month, she told Instagram followers:
