NeNe Leakes Says She Was Targeted During ‘RHOA’ Reunion, Says Friendship With Wendy Williams Should NOT Have Been Questioned

Real Housewives of Atlanta fans were appalled at the thought of losing their long-awaited reunion special due to the coronavirus quarantine. Instead, producers pivoted the taping to a virtual meet-up from their own homes – much like the current handlings of shows like The Tamron Hall Show; The Real, and The Talk. Well, Housewives OG Nene Leakes dished on how the reunion taping went.

Nene Leakes says she was the target for the first two hours of filming. She also called castmate, Eva Marcille, “boring:”

“The first two and a half hours- it was all questioning me. Me, me, me, me! NeNe, NeNe, NeNe, NeNe! I thought, ‘Okay. So it’s all me.’ According to everything I saw this season, they said they carried the show, I’m not in that many episodes, they in the majority of the episodes- so why should I have had that many questions?…So when the reunion starts again, Marlo [Hampton] and Tanya [Sam] are not out there. Porsha [Williams] is there, I’m there. And you have to understand that the rest of them are with Kenya [Moore] on her side. So Cynthia [Bailey], Kandi [Burruss], Eva, and her- they all over there. So when I’m asked a question, all these people jumpin’ in! Majority of the time, it was Eva and Kenya jumpin’ in. You know Eva’s got to save her plum and make it into a peach – so she’s gotta do whatever she gotta do at this point. She’s so interesting, as she likes to say. But she wasn’t interesting at all. I don’t care what anybody says. She wasn’t interesting. Okay girl, you might have been a pretty face, but you had no personality. You weren’t fun- it was nothing.”

Because of this, Nene Leakes said she walked off of the taping by closing her laptop two hours into the reunion:

“They had not said on here once, ‘We gon’ have a pee break! Anybody want some water?’ We have our drinks, so we can just drink whatever we wanna drink…I closed my computer. I went to go use the bathroom, and I thought, ‘I need a break, so I’m just gon’ take a break.’ Whenever I felt like I wanted to take a break, I was gon’ take a break- because I’m [if] just the person you’re gonna ask questions to, I’mma need a break a little bit more than everybody else, I guess.”

She also said she feels questions about her friendship with Wendy Williams were completely irrelevant to Real Housewives of Atlanta:

“I was asked questions about me and Wendy Williams’ relationship. I really felt like that had nothing to do with the show at all. Wendy and I had a bit of a disagreement recently. She spoke out on her show, she called me, ‘That girl over there.’…one of the questions from one of the girls was, ‘Why didn’t you speak out publicly about that? I feel like your relationship with her is very strategic…’ I explained as best as I could, I don’t have a strategic relationship with her. She reached out to me when we weren’t talking…I told her if we ever had any other issue, that I would not go on a public platform and speak about it. She told me that if we had any other issue, she would call me and text me herself…Now why she didn’t hold her end of the bargain up? I don’t know…I don’t feel like I need to talk about our relationship on a public platform because I talk to her personally.”

Nene went on to confirm that she, along with her husband, Gregg Leakes, co-star Yovanna Momsplaisir, and two RHOA production members vetted Yovanna Momsplaisir to make sure snakegate was real.

“I called YoYo up personally. I said, ‘What are you doing? Why are you out here saying I made up a recording?’…me, one of the executives, a producer, myself, Gregg, her husband Rick, and her – we all sat in a meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel. They wanted her to let them hear a little bit of the voice recording because they wanted to know that she had it for real and she wasn’t lying because she wanted to be on the show and around the show. Her husband said he heard it, and when he heard it he told her she could not play it because it would ruin their reputation…a month prior to that, she had already sent me the transcript…just know she’s telling another lie.”‘

She also questioned why Yovanna Momsplaisir was asked to appear on the reunion over The Cookie Lady and Marc Daly:

“Why isn’t The Cookie Lady here? Why can’t these girls discuss The Cookie Lady? That was a big thing! Why didn’t you bring Paul and Tanya to sit with Kenya and The Cookie Lady and sit with that situation? Am I wrong for feeling like that? Why isn’t Marc here to deal with some of the questions concerning their marriage? Why isn’t Todd [Tucker] here…? Why is it just, ‘Let’s see what we can do to tear NeNe down?'”

It sounds like the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” season twelve reunion will be a drama-filled, must-see!
