Keri Hilson Opens Up About Rumored Feud W/ Beyonce, Says ‘Turning Me On Remix’ Lyrics ‘Was Not My Writing, I Had To Take The Penalty’

For years Keri Hilson has taken the heat for dissing Beyonce in her 2009 release of “Turnin Me On” remix.

In a recent interview with Claudia Jordan on her Fox Soul show, Keri Hilson got candid about the lyrics in her song that allegedly were dissing singers Beyonce and Ciara more than 10 years ago. After years of speculation on whether or not Keri Hilson and Beyonce had beef, Keri Hilson cleared up the rumors, stating that there’s no comparison when it comes to Beyonce.

“No one could ever compare to Beyonce let’s just say the name that we’re discussing. No one could compare, no one will for a very, very, very long time and that was never my aim.”

Keri also explains that she didn’t write the lyrics in the “Turnin Me On” remix:

“It was written that way, was not my lyrics, was not my writing.”
She added that she was young and wasn’t ready to throw her team under the bus by telling the truth.
“I had to pay the penalty and then I’m caught like do I tell the truth do I expose them early in my career? I’m super young ,super new, this is my first album. I’m so excited it just soiled my whole dream.”

Rumors of a feud started when a leaked version of “Turnin Me On” released in 2009.  In the song, Keri sings,

“I ain’t tryin to start some mess /There’s just somethin on my chest that I need to get off / Cause you turnin me off / Your vision cloudy if you think that you’re the best / You can dance she can sing but she need to move it to the left.”

“She needs to go have some babies / she need to sit down, she fake / Them other chicks ain’t even worth my time to talk about”

Keri Hilson closed out her verse, reminding her fans of her extensive writing discography.

“Go-on and tell these folks how long I been writing your songs / I been puttin you on / just check the credits h*e/ And if you want me you can find me in the Decatur h*e”
