Madonna Is Writing Her Own Biopic: The Focus Is About My Struggle Trying To Survive In A Man’s World

Fans will get a closer look at singer Madonna’s life!

She revealed that she and Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody are collaborating to write a biopic about her. The 62-year old pop star said the project will document her early years as an artist in New York in the ’80s and her interactions with Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Martin Burgoyne. Although the two have yet to determine a title for the project, Madonna confirmed they’ve already written 107 pages of the script, which they said will likely become a two-hour film. In the hour-long Instagram Live, Madonna shared how the writing experience has been thus far, and what we can expect from the biopic.

“So it’s kind of like a form of therapy. And sometimes I get confused and forget that I’m writing about me, and I start to refer to me as she. That’s a bit weird… The focus is really about my struggle as an artist trying to survive in a man’s world as a woman, and really just the journey, which has been happy, sad, mad, crazy, good, bad and ugly.”

She also added that she most likely won’t play herself in the project. She continued,

“It’s not a musical, but there’s a lot of music and there’s a lot of the actress who will play me singing my songs, but in places where she’s supposed to be singing.”

Madonna posted a pic on her Instagram teasing her fans with the anticipation of the biopic.

“Are you ready for the story of my life………. Am I? #livetotell #diablocody #screenplay”
