Jazmine Sullivan Tells Critics Of Her Weight Loss ‘Stop Talking About People’ + Explains She Went Vegan To Support Her Mother

Jazmine Sullivan has a few words for those who have criticized her weight loss progress.

The soulful singer recently shared a picture showing off her slimmer physique while on set of the video shoot for her new single “Lost One.” While she received mostly kind words from fans, she was also met with negative comments, including some critics who said she looked “sickly.”

Jazmine Sullivan, 33, took to her Instagram Story on Friday (Oct.2) to share a message with her fans and address the criticism she received. She informed fans that she isn’t as “skinny” as she appears. Jazmine Sullivan wrote,

“Last week some people dragged me saying I look sickly. I’m honestly a size 12. 180 lbs. There’s nothing skinny abt me but my neck. I’m 5’8 however, so I sometimes photograph a little leaner than I am. But I ain’t skinny and that was never my goal. My goal was to support my mother thru her battle w cancer by going vegan with her, and in turn it helped me as well. And I feel really good.”

She continues,

“I have a lot of things to work on in my journey and am not nearly the model for health and fitness. But I’m trying… And I’ll continue to do so w my momma! Bless ya’ll, love ya’ll. Stop talking bout people. Vote in November!”

Back in December (2019), Jazmine Sullivan mentioned that she had recently experienced something that “rocked her world. ” At the time it was unclear what it was, however, it was later revealed that her mother was battling breast cancer.
