While many eyes were on Janet Hubert and Will Smith during the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special this week, some fans wondered where Alfonso Ribeiro was when Janet Hubert reunited with the rest of the cast.

One viewer wrote:

Before speculation could go any further, Janet Hubert replied:

“Don’t assume, he was working and I wasn’t there. Let it go sweetie, we have.”

While Alfonso Ribeiro wasn’t present during Janet Hubert’s appearance, she and Will Smith were certainly able to hash things out after feuding for nearly 30 years. In one scene, she confronted Will Smith over being labeled as “difficult” after her departure from the show.

She told him:

“Words can kill. I lost everything. Reputation, everything, everything. I understand you were able to move forward, but you know those words, calling a Black woman difficult in Hollywood is the kiss of death. It’s the kiss of death. It’s hard enough being a dark-skinned black woman in this business.”
