Ashanti No Longer Has COVID-19: Feeling Grateful

Singer Ashanti is in good spirits after recovering from COVID-19.

theJasmineBRAND previously broke the news that Ashanti’s Verzuz battle with Keyshia Cole was postponed because of a COVID-19 incident.

It was later confirmed that Ashanti tested positive for coronavirus just before she was slated to go head to head with the “Heaven Sent” singer.

Now, she’s in full recovery mode as she announced she and her parents have tested negative.

She wrote:

“Starting off the new year Amazing and Covid free!!! Got my negative results back 2 days ago! Happy new Year y’all!!!… Let’s go 202WON! ThankuGod”

She also wrote the caption:

“Feeling grateful … My parents and I got our negative results back right in time to start off the New Year healthy, happy & loved. Wishing y’all all an Amazing 202WON”

Ahead of her recovery, she denied getting COVID-19 from traveling but instead contracted it after hugging a relative.

“To be very, very, very clear: Yes I’ve been traveling, yes I went to Nairobi, I had an amazing time. No I did not get Covid from traveling, no I did not get Covid from being in Africa….Everyone that I went on a trip with has tested [negative]. They went from country to country, they went to Uganda so they have to continue to get tested. No one tested positive, I did not get it from travelling. “

She instead revealed she contracted the virus from a family member.

“I actually got it from a family member when I came home. I came home and I hugged a family member who ended up being positive. I didn’t know he was positive, he didn’t know he was positive so when he went to get tested, I was like, ‘Oh, f**k’.”

We’re glad Ashanti is COVID-free!
