Update #4: DMX’s rep has released the following statement:
“Last night Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home. At this time he remains in ICU in critical condition. Earl has been a warrior his entire life. This situation represents yet another road he must conquer. The Simmons Family appreciates the overwhelming outpouring of heartfelt love, encouragement, support and prayers for Earl. Earl is someone whose life and music have been a source of inspiration and strength to so many people around the world. It is reassuring to see his fans return that same passion and energy to him during his time of need.”
Update #3: #DMX’s health status was murky as of Saturday evening. DMX’s attorney Murray Richman first confirmed to Pix11 that the rapper had suffered a heart attack and has
“been taken off life support system and is breathing on his own.”
“It would be disingenuous of me to suggest that I am not a worried man.”
But speaking to Rolling Stone later that evening, he says he was “given wrong information” and said that the rapper remains on life support.
Update #2: DMX’s attorney has given an update, after reports of him suffering a drug overdose. His attorney says that he has been taken off life support & is breathing on his own. However, they are still concerned about his condition.

Original Story: DMX is reportedly fighting for his life after suffering a drug overdose at his home Friday evening (April 2nd).
The alleged overdose lead to a heart attack. He’s receiving treatment at a White Plains, New York hospital, according to TMZ.
There are conflicting reports on his condition as one source said he has “some brain activity” and another said he is in a “vegetative state.”
Doctors have allegedly warned that he might not pull through.
DMX has been open about his struggle with substance abuse. He most recently went to rehab in 2019.
In November, DMX opened up about being tricked into smoking crack at the young age of 14.
“I hit the blunt and … I was no longer focused on the money. I’ve never felt like this, it just f–ked me up. I later found out that he laced the blunt with crack. Why would you do that to a child? He knew I looked up to him. Why would you do that to somebody who looks up to you? A monster was born. I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy. Especially to someone that you supposedly love.”
The story is developing…
Prayers for DMX and his loved ones during this time.
