Akon Will Reportedly Build A City In Uganda By 2036
Akon is moving forward with his plans to build a futuristic-type city.
While he was initially going to build it in Senegal, he alluded to building his utopia in Uganda.
Akon said of Uganda during a recent visit,
“It’s one of those places where, just from my visit here, it’s so much about Uganda I never knew even existed. It’s a certain welcome that I never knew Uganda even had. When you look at how Uganda has been promoted and how Ugandans have been promoted, internationally. You would be scared to death to come to Uganda… They don’t tell you about what I just saw and I’m determined to expose that. I want people to understand how beautiful Uganda is. And the best way to do that is to build my city here.”

The “real-life Wakanda” will be reportedly complete by 2036, according to investigative journalist Canary Mugume.
The city will reportedly include skyscrapers, universities, hospitals, a resort, and recording studios. Crypto-currency AKoin will be used to pay help for costs to operate the city like utilities, taxes, and services.
Akon said back in September 2020 that construction on a $6 billion city in Senegal would begin this year.
Akon rolled out his idea to create a “utopian city” back in 2018, with hopes that the city will provide much-needed jobs for Senegalese and also feel like a “home back home” for Black Americans currently facing racial injustices. Akon says:
“The system back home treats them unfairly in so many different ways that you can never imagine. And they only go through it because they feel that there is no other way.”
“So if you’re coming from America or Europe or elsewhere in the diaspora and you feel that you want to visit Africa, we want Senegal to be your first stop.”
Akon said he has already secured $2 billion of the $6 billion needed.
