The Rock – Nearly Half Of Americans Want Him To Run For President
According to a new poll, The Rock has support from nearly 50 percent of Americans in his potential run for president.
Roughly 30,130 people participated in a Pipslay survey and responded to questions about celebrities who want to enter the political arena.
Twenty-nine percent of participants said they want to see actor Matthew McConaughey, who is considering a run for governor of Texas, and The Rock (born Dwyane Johnson), who has spoken about a potential presidential campaign, run for their respective offices.
On top of that, an additional 17 percent said they want The Rock to be president in the future.
The Rock previously spoke on the possibility and told USA Today he would
“consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted.”
Back in 2017, he said during an interview with GQ that a campaign was “a real possibility.”
He made his first political endorsement when he supported Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. He said in September 2020,
“As a registered Independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice to lead our country, and I am endorsing them to become President, and Vice President, of our United States. Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, grit, kindness and respect. Being kind and respectful to one another will always matter.”
As a political independent & centrist, I’ve voted for both parties in the past. In this critical presidential election, I’m endorsing @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris.
Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, KINDNESS & RESPECT.
