Kris Jenner’s Divorce Advice To Daughter Kim Kardashian: The Kids Come First
Kris Jenner is explaining the advice she gave her daughter Kim Kardashian, 40, amid her divorce to rapper Kanye West, 43.
As previously reported, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce in February after six years of marriage. Kanye West recently responded to the divorce and requested joint custody (Kim Kardashian did as well) and that neither party receive spousal support.
Kris Jenner referenced her previous divorces in an interview for WSJ Magazine’s The One special. She divorced Robert Kardashian, Sr. in 1991, and Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) in 2015.
She said,
“I think the most important thing I learned through my experience, both of my experiences, is that the kids come first.”
She and Robert Kardashian, Sr. welcomed four children while together: Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian. She and Caitlyn Jenner also share daughters Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner.

She continued,
“If you keep that in the front of your mind and know that they are going to get you through, the love is going to get you through, you know, no matter how much you’re hurting. I used to put everybody to bed, and then I would be upset or go to my room and cry myself to sleep. But I didn’t want to have a pity party in front of the kids.”
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have four young children: Nort West, 7, Saint West, 5, Chicago West, 3, and Psalm West, who turns two next month.

She added that things can “get really silly” during a split, and focusing on the children can help “unnecessary” things not be a factor.
