Eboni K. Williams Goes On A Social Media Hiatus Following A Heated Conversation About Race With ‘RHONY’ Cast Members
Eboni K. Williams has decided to take a break from social media following a heated conversation about race that took place on RHONY. Eboni K. Williams announced her social media hiatus in a personal 6-minute and 21-second video that she posted online. In the video, she shared that she was coming from a “vulnerable place” and said
“After tonight’s episode I’m not going to be saying goodbye but I am going to be saying see you later by way of social media for about two weeks. Tonight’s episode and next week’s episode are really intense and really important.”
She continued,
“I want you to lean into them and I want yo to watch them. And I want some of y’all to watch them multiple times.
Eboni K. Williams also addressed fans who said that this season of RHONY has been different and agreed with them.
“It’s different this season, you’re right. We’re in a pandemic. We’re in the middle of the most dynamic call to action around racial reconciliation, certainly in our generation. And we’re in the heartbeat of it all in New York City, so we’re doing a heavy lift here.”
She added,
“And I’m not doing it by myself. I’m doing it with my castmates and the support of our network.”
Eboni went on to say that she’s taking a social media hiatus so viewers of the popular series can fully digest what they will see on the show and break it down together.
“The reason I’m taking this social media break for the next two weeks is because I want to leave ya’ll to yourselves to have discussions and debates and conversations around what you’re going to see tonight [and] what you’re going to see next week.”

Eboni wasn’t holding back when she said that Tuesday (June 1) night’s episode was going to be intense. During the episode, she got into a heated exchange with Luann de Lesseps, 56.

The argument initially started about their differing opinions on discussing sex openly with friends. However, things quickly went south, and soon Eboni, the show’s first Black Housewife, was having a heated argument with some of her castmates about race. During the argument, Eboni told her other castmember, Ramona Singer, 64,
“Your white fragility is killing me right now.”

Luann de Lesseps ultimately asked Eboni to leave her home. She said,
“I think you should go. You need to calm down and think about what you just said was very offensive to us.”
