T-Pain Reveals Hit Song ‘I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper)’ Was Created As A Joke: My Homeboy Was Tryna Save Strippers In The Club
Although “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper)” was one of T-Pain‘s earliest hits, he recently revealed that the song actually started as a joke!
T-Pain appeared on the June 3rd episode of Mike Tyson‘s podcast, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. While there, he proceeded to discuss his 2005 hit song–including the inspiration behind it. T-Pain revealed:
“My homeboy was tryna save strippers in the club. The song was a joke. I was literally making fun of him. We was just in the studio f**king around and Big Boi [of Outkast] saying it was dope and I said yep.”
In response to T-Pain‘s revelation, Mike Tyson‘s co-host–football player Sebastian Joseph-Day–stated:
“Yo, shoutout to your friend out here saving these h*es!”

“I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper)” was one of the leading hits from T-Pain‘s debut album, Rappa Ternt Sanga (the other being “I’m Sprung”). Eventually, the song peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and is still considered one of the rapper’s most well-known hits–and now we know what inspired the jam!
