Kanye West Expected To Release ‘Donda’ On Same Day As Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’

Could Donda and Certified Lover Boy actually drop on the same day?

Earlier today (Friday, Aug. 27th), the release date for Drake‘s Certified Lover Boy album was seemingly revealed on ESPN’s Sports Center. In an ad that was made to look like a glitch, a hooded man holds up a cardboard sign reading:

“CLB September 3.”

However, it appears Kanye West may be gearing up to drop Donda on the same day as Certified Lover Boy. Apple Music currently lists Donda as having an expected release date of September 3rd (next Friday)–the same day CLB is supposed to drop.

However, it should be noted that Kanye West‘s team has not publicly announced an exact release date, which has already shifted numerous times. Additionally, iTunes currently lists the album as being expected September 5th.

Despite this, it’s worth noting that Kanye West‘s manager–Abou “Bu” Thiam–uploaded a cryptic message to his Instagram Story earlier today (Friday, Aug. 27th), writing “Loading…” This sparked additional speculation that Kanye‘s team is preparing to drop the album soon.

Reports that Donda will drop on the same day as Certified Lover Boy comes shortly after the rappers reignited their public feud. Though the pair had issued various jabs at each other in earlier years, Drake recently fired shots at Kanye West while being featured on Trippie Redd‘s “Betrayal.” During his verse, Drake says

“Forty-five, forty-four, let it go. Ye ain’t changing s**t for me.”

After hearing the diss, Kanye West seemingly addressed Drake in a group chat. In a screenshot that was posted and later deleted, Kanye West sends a picture of the Joker and writes:

“I live for this. I’ve been f**ked with by nerd a** jock n***as like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”

He also leaked Drake‘s address on Instagram.

In response, Drake simply uploaded a video of him laughing in his car.
