Many fans thought that it wasn’t safe for him to be in the storm in the first place.

But Al Roker had some words to say to the Twitter critics who thought NBC was putting his life at risk for the news.
“I volunteered to do this. My crew and I were safe and we are back at our hotel for those who think I’m too old to be doing this, try and keep up.”
The majority of people thought he was simply too old to report in such a dangerous storm.

He responded specifically to the people who think he’s too old to be doing this. He jokingly said,
“Secondly, ‘Well, he’s too old to be doing this’? Well, hey, screw you. OK? And try to keep up. Keep up, OK? These young punks. I’ll come after them. I will drop them like a bag of dirt.”

Al Roker didn’t seem too offended at the age jokes or people critiquing him but that hasn’t stopped the tweets from coming in.

Many people even praised Roker for braving the storm and for jokingly responding to critics.
