However, there will be many new characters, along with the original cast members, that deal with reimagined issues of dealing with football, relationships, and black culture. According to reports, Paramount Plus said,
“The Game returns with a mix of new players and original cast to offer a modern-day examination of Black culture through the prism of pro football. The team will tackle racism, sexism, classism, and more as they fight for fame, fortune, respect, and love — all while trying to maintain their souls as they each play The Game.”
The Girlfriends spin-off originally premiered on The CW and was created by the talented Mara Brock Akil. She’ll be executive producer of the reboot along with the original executive producer Kelsey Grammer and Tom Russo of Grammnet NH Productions.
