Jaleel White Reprising Role As Steve Urkel In Animated Holiday Special

Steve Urkel is coming back to TV later this year, and Jaleel White is reprising his role as the iconic character!

According to recent reports, Jaleel White will voice Steve Urkel in a holiday special. It is titled Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story, and it will air on Cartoon Network later this year.

The animated special will reportedly feature Steve Urkel ruining the town’s Christmas celebration by accident. He then worsens matters in an attempt to fix things with a faulty invention. In order to remedy the situation, Steve Urkel tries to save Christmas by tracking down Santa Claus.

This is not the first time Jaleel White has reprised his role as Steve Urkel for a cartoon. Back in 2019, Jaleel White voiced an animated Steve Urkel in an episode of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? The episode–titled “When Urkel-Bots Go Bad!”–was the first time Jaleel White voiced Steve Urkel since Family Matters ended.

It is also worth noting that Jaleel White has done non-Steve Urkel voicework on another Cartoon Network show, Teen Titans Go!

Jaleel White first starred as Steve Urkel on Family Matters back in 1989. He was only 12 years old at the time. Notably, Steve Urkel was initially intended to be a guest character who was featured in only one episode. However, fans loved the geeky character, and he soon became the show’s breakout star until it ended in 1998.
