Tracy Morgan To Star In ‘Twins’ Sequel Alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger & Danny DeVito
Tracy Morgan, 52, is becoming a triplet.
Best known for his roles on ‘30 Rock,’ and ‘The Last O.G.,’ which he starred in along with Tiffany Haddish, Tracy Morgan will join Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito in the sequel of ‘Twins,’ as their long-lost triplet.
The sequel, which comes 33 years after the original, will begin shooting in January 2022, in Boston. The idea for the follow-up film came after Director Ivan Reitman had a meeting with Eddie Murphy, who suggested being the triplet. Reitman said he and Eddie Murphy started a script together however following the success of Coming 2 America, Eddie Murphy was no longer available.
Continuing, Reitman added,
“I’d been good friends with Tracy Morgan for a long time and always thought he would make a terrific triplet, and we rewrote the whole script for him. Now, we’ll go out and try and put the money together and get it made.”
In the ‘Twins‘ sequel, Arnold and Danny will discover that they are actually triplets and have a brother they never knew. Reitman expressed that the film is really about family and that no matter our differences, we can all get along.
The original ‘Twins,’ was released in 1988 and globally grossed $216 million.
In 2014, Tracy Morgan was in a car accident with a tracker trailer that claimed the life of his friend, Jimmy Mack, and left him in a coma with multiple broken bones and brain damage, which resulted in memory loss and months of rehab.
He recently visited the rehabilitation center which he reportedly became so emotional he fell to his knees. A source from the center said,
“Tracy became emotional and started crying. He was very thankful to all the nurses and doctors who helped him recover. Tracy was joined by nurse Jackie and Dr. [Brian] Greenwald, who cared for him while he was a patient.”
