During a recent interview, Kevin Hart said,
“This was an opportunity for me to step outside of my norm and partake in a genre of this craft that I never imagined that I would get to. My road to this type of role has been a long one, and I wanted to make sure that it was something that I could do and have my fan base really believe in, respect, and say, ‘We’ve actually witnessed him work his way to get here.’ Doing The Upside was strategic, doing Fatherhood was strategic, and now doing True Story is strategic. This is about me finding new excitement in my craft, in my talent, and putting it on display.”
Kevin Hart returns to Netflix after starring in ‘Fatherhood,’ in which he played a widower, trying to raise his daughter on his own.
As previously reported, Eric Newman, showrunner of Netflix’s popular series Narcos, will be an executive producer for the series along with Hart.

Wesley Snipes
On the project and the opportunity to work with Wesley Snipes, Hart said,
“I’ve never been more excited about an acting project in my career. I’ve always been a fan of Wesley Snipes and working with him is mind-blowing. Having HartBeat Productions at the helm and working alongside Eric Newman as a partner and creative arm has been unreal, nobody is ready for what this show is going to be.”
