Nick Cannon Recalls ‘Serious’ Relationship W/ Kim Kardashian: She Broke My Heart! + Says Ray J Warned Him About Sex Tape, Talks Being ‘Ready To Walk Away’ From ‘Wild ‘N Out’
Nick Cannon took viewers on a trip down memory lane during a recent interview!
Over the weekend, Nick Cannon appeared on Drink Champs and touched on a variety of different subjects. During his hour-long interview with co-hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Nick Cannon initially spoke on his past relationship with Kim Kardashian, who he dated from 2006 to 2007. Specifically, he clarified that Ray J–who made his infamous sex tape with Kim Kardashian back in 2002–knew her first. Despite this, Nick Cannon claimed that he was the first one to introduce Kim Kardashian to people in the industry:
“People were introduced to who she was through me. When Ray J was dating her, she wasn’t really famous. People didn’t know [Kim Kardashian]–they was just like ‘Yo, who’s that chick with Nick? She bad!’ It was one of those.”
He then correctly concluded that the sex tape was made prior to his relationship with Kim Kardashian, despite it not being released until 2007. Nick Cannon went on to say:
“I remember I was really in to her… We was on some serious s**t!”
Shortly thereafter, Nick added:
“She broke my heart.”
Nick Cannon later dished on Kim Kardashian and Ray J, alleging that the “Sexy Can I” singer shadily warned him about the sex tape! He stated:
“I saw Ray J [out on Rodeo Drive]… I was holding [Kim’s] hand and, literally from across the street, he was like ‘You ain’t gonna wanna keep holding her hand soon, watch!’ And I’m thinking he’s just hating!… And I’m like wondering why he said that, and then there started to be these little rumors around that there was this tape… I think he was warning [me]!”
He then recalls that, after he asked Kim about the sex tape rumors, she denied it. However, the tape was eventually unveiled, and Nick Cannon recalled:
“At that time, all my team was like ‘Abort mission!'”
Nick Cannon then spoke about another one of his famous exes: Mariah Carey! Specifically, N.O.R.E. asked Nick if he was “out of line” for previously asking about Mariah Carey‘s past relationship with Cam’ron, to which Nick Cannon responded:
“Nah! First of all, again, it was way before me. And I don’t think there actually was anything that went on–Cam said it wasn’t nothing going on! [At the time] I was a fan like you–I was looking!”
Nick then clarified that there’s no beef between him and Cam’ron, and he said he’d love to go head to head on Wild ‘N Out.
“I’ve been trying to get Cam to come on ‘Wild ‘N Out’… Let’s talk that s**t on ‘Wild ‘N Out’! I don’t know, I still think Cam scared. C’mon Cam–come pull up to ‘Wild ‘N Out’!”
The 40-year-old comedian then dished on his upcoming documentary on Dr. Sebi, a Honduran herbalist who worked with celebrities like Michael Jackson and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. He revealed that he’s still in the process of filming, though he added “they’re not trying to make it easy to put it out.” He then commented:
“It’s a powerful documentary, we have so much footage now. The goal is Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, something like that.”
Nick Cannon then shared how Nipsey Hussle inspired him to pursue the documentary, as the late rapper was interested in Dr. Sebi‘s teachings during his lifetime.
Nick wrapped up the interview by speaking on Wild ‘N Out. Regarding the series’ return, he remarked:
“It’s bittersweet because it’s one of those things where I was ready to walk away from it ’cause I felt like so many had walked away from me. And I didn’t need it anymore–I’ve been blessed enough to have ownership of the brand… To be able to create a brand at such a level.”
He then added:
“It’s a billion dollar brand–like what it generates for Viacom. It’s probably the longest-running hip-hop comedy brand!”
