Tory Lanez To Face Live Testimony After No Plea Deal Is Reached In Assault Case Involving Megan Thee Stallion
It looks like Tory Lanez is going to trial.
Tory Lanez and his legal team were reportedly having ‘meaningful conversations‘ with prosecutors to work out a plea deal in the rapper’s felony assault case with Megan Thee Stallion.
However, it seems no deal was made and Tory Lanez is headed to trial beginning Dec. 14th. On the case, his attorney said,
“As in every case, the lawyers for the parties discuss the possibility of resolving the case. This case is no different. That said, our position as to what did and did not happen in this matter remains unchanged, and [Tory Lanez]’s plea of not guilty stands.”
In July of 2020, Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion in her feet after the two had a disagreement in an SUV.
Tory is facing two felony charges for assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, as well as the accusation that he “personally inflicted great bodily injury.”
Megan Thee Stallion recalled the incident on Instagram Live saying,
“I was shot in both of my feet and I had to get surgery to get the s*** taken out, get the bullets taken out. It was super scary. It was, like, just the worst experience of my life.”
She added,
“Thank God that the bullets didn’t touch bones, they didn’t break tendons. Where the bullets hit at, it missed everything.”
She also shared a photo of her injured foot as she called out her critics.
If found guilty, the Canadian-born rapper could face 22 years and eight months in prison.
