Pooh Shiesty No Longer Facing Life In Prison For Allegedly Shooting Man In Buttocks
Pooh Shiesty could be behind bars for quite a while.
Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, 22, has entered a guilty plea for a set of harsh charges, reports say. Pooh Shiesty’s–whose real name is Lontrell Dennell Williams Jr.–recent legal troubles began in October 2020 when he met two men in a condo parking lot to discuss an exchange. The meeting allegedly ended with one man being shot in the buttocks. That incident resulted in charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and battery, and criminal theft. If found guilty after trial, he could’ve spent the rest of his life in prison.
The plea shaved three charges off, and he now faces a federal charge of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. Instead of a life sentence, Pooh Shiesty is looking at a maximum of 20 years, according to a statement given by the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida.
A year following the 2020 incident, the southern rhymer was arrested for another shooting in Florida. Unlike his last arrest, he was held with no bond. The charges, which involved an injured security guard at a strip club, were later dropped.
On October 14, 2020, it was reported that two men were shot while meeting with Pooh Shiesty in Bay Harbor Islands. One man was there to auction off a pair of Air Jordans, while the other had some marijuana for the rapper. They were also collecting a check for a vehicle that they’d rented to him. After allegedly shooting the men, the rapper exited the parking lot in said vehicle.
He has not been sentenced yet.
Pooh Shiesty’s highest-selling single is “Back in Blood,” which features one of rap’s most popular artists, Lil Durk.
