Kamala Harris’ Husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff Tests Positive For COVID-19
Doug Emhoff, 57, is the latest public figure to test positive for the coronavirus. Doug Emhoff, the second gentleman of the United States and husband to Vice President Kamala Harris, confirmed this on March 15 in a message shared on his Twitter. He noted he was experiencing light symptoms and said he was “grateful” to have been vaccinated. He wrote:
“I tested positive for COVID. My symptoms are mild and I’m grateful to be both vaccinated and boosted. If you have yet to get vaccinated and boosted, please don’t wait.”

Kamala Harris was supposed to attend an event at the White House the same day in honor of Equal Pay Day. However, she reportedly decided not to attend due to Doug Emhoff‘s results.

Kamala Harris speaks to Joe Biden
“Kamala chose not to take a chance since her husband had contracted COVID, although he’s feeling very well I’m told,” President Joe Biden said at the event. “By the way, when he tested, he’s fine, but out of an abundance of caution, she decided she wasn’t going to join us today.”
“But let’s send her our love, because she’s something else. And I know how proud she is of our team,” he continued.
Emhoff tested positive as COVID-19 cases in the United States are at a decline. However, experts have cautioned that there could be another rise around the country due to the BA.2 sub-variant of the Omicron variant and the loosening of COVID restrictions, among other things.
We hope everyone stays safe and healthy. How are you navigating the pandemic? Let us know in the comments.
