Venus & Serena Williams’ Dad Says “We Don’t Condone Hitting Anyone Unless In Self-Defense” + Their Half Sister Says Will Smith’s Oscar Should Be Snatched

King Richard has joined the chat on the recent Oscar’s drama.

In the aftermath of his biopic actor Will Smith hitting host Chris Rock during the awards ceremony, tennis coach Richard Williams issued a statement. Saying that while some fact are unknown, violence is never the answer. His estranged daughter, Sabrina Williams, outwardly condemned the incident.

Many people from social media users to celebrities alike have weighed in on the viral moment, when Oscar winning actor Will Smith hit comedian Chris Rock on stage. The assault came after Chris made an insensitive joke about Will’s star actress wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s, balding due to Alopecia condition.

The father of tennis legends Venus and Serena, whose life’s story won Will his first Oscar for his portrayal in the film “King Richard”, recently gave a statement on the matter. According to reports, the statement made through his son Chavoita LeSane read:

“We don’t know all the details of what happened, but we don’t condone anyone hitting anyone else unless it’s in self-defense.”

Reports state that when asked about Will’s acceptance speech, the Williams team declined to give any further statements. Richard’s 57-year-old estranged daughter, Sabrina Williams, was vocally more condemning of Will’s actions. Reportedly, the half sister of Venus and Serena said that the behavior was irresponsible stating:

“I have no sympathy for him because that’s just irresponsible behavior….He probably needs to seek counseling. I’m not saying he has mental health issues but maybe he can talk to somebody because that’s not appropriate behavior.”

Sabrina, who accused her father Richard of abuse – prior to him leaving his first marriage and family, also stated:

“Will Smith got angry, went overboard, and assaulted another person. Then you just can’t apologize two minutes later, you lost your mind….I agree he should be stripped of the Oscar.”

The awards organization released a statement after the altercation, claiming they seriously considered stripping Will of his award. Will has since issued a publicly apology to Chris for the assault.
