Blac Chyna’s Bid To Force E! To Reveal Profits From Cancelled Reality Show ‘Rob & Chyna’ Is Denied By Judge

Blac Chyna’s request to force the E! network to reveal how much it earned in profits from her short-lived reality show, “Rob & Chyna,” has been thrown out by a judge.

Judge Gregory Alarconwho’s been presiding over the 33-year-old’s lawsuit against the Kardashian/Jenner family– has denied her request to subpoena the network to open up its books on the spin-off series during its seven-episode run in 2016. Reportedly, Blac Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, had argued that details surrounding the profits E! gained from the series are vital to her claim for damages against the billionaire family. However, on Monday (Apr. 25), E! attorney Rochelle Wilcox filed an opposing motion, telling Judge Alarcon that such information is a “privileged trade secretthat should not be publicly disclosed.

On Tuesday (Apr. 26), Judge Alarcon granted the network’s motion in a written ruling after “finding that plaintiff (Chyna) has failed to show good cause to seek trade secrets.”

As previously reported, model/reality TV star Blac Chyna is currently suing the Kardashian/Jenner family for allegedly getting her reality show “Rob & Chyna” canceled, costing her millions. While the show received good ratings and was seemingly popular, it ended abruptly after one season. In the lawsuit, Chyna claims Kris Jenner and her daughters Kim KardashianKhloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner used their influence at E! to get her contract terminated.

Kardashians/ Jenners

Wednesday (Apr.27) marks the eighth day of trial in which sisters Kim, 41, Khloe, 37, Kylie Jenner, 24, and their mother, Kris Jenner, 66, are all named defendants in the suit. On Tuesday, Kim Kardashian admitted in court that she was less than thrilled about having to film episodes of “Keeping up with the Kardashians with Blac Chyna after she allegedly beat her brother, Rob Kardashian, 35, with a metal rod.

In one of the alleged messages sent to E! producers in 2017, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum wrote that she needed a small break from filming “until you guys figure out what you’re going to do.” Kim Kardashian allegedly added,

“Chyna will not be on our show. And it’s actually putting my brother in bad position because he ends up crying all day saying the only reason she [Chyna] showed up was because she was filming.”

When asked whether the message was sent in an attempt to stop a potential second season of E!’s “Rob & Chyna,” Kim insisted it had nothing to do with their spin-off and only referred to her desire to temporarily take a break from taping.

“I can’t control the content of what they film, but this is our show — why would we film with her? I really don’t know what they were filming [for “Rob & Chyna”] beyond when the fight happened. Clearly something happened.”

Blac Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, grilled Kim about the intent of the text message she sent to her sisters and E! producers- and whether they ever had a family meeting about canceling the second season of ‘Rob & Chyna.’

Kim claims she was attempting to be transparent and set realistic expectations for who would be appearing on “KUWTK,” insisting that it had nothing to do with the “Rob & Chyna” show. While on the stand, Kim told attorney Ciani,

“Clearly, if I’m asking if [Chyna is] getting paid, I have no knowledge if she was getting paid on our show.”

The lawyer then pushed back,

“You were informing producers if Chyna was on “KUWTK,” you weren’t going to film anymore?”

Kim quickly replied,

“They could film what they want. … We don’t have the power, as you have been insinuating. I was just expressing that I will be taking a break from filming to assess how I’m feeling. I will not go into work in a toxic environment. I can only control what I can do, which is to take a break.”

Blac Chyna–who shares a daughter with Rob Kardashian is suing the Kardashian family for $100 million, accusing them of defamation and “intentional interference with contract” that led to her show being canceled.
