Lebron James Shares Goal Of Owning An NBA Team In Las Vegas
Looks like billionaire baller Lebron James has his sights set on Vegas after his NBA career ends.
During a recent episode of his HBO series The Shop, Lakers star Lebron James discussed his not-so-unattainable goal of owning an NBA team in the future. The four-time basketball champ was speaking about his post-player life when the topic came about.

Speaking on the matter, Lebron confidently stated:
“I want to own a team.”
Previously, the 37-year-old athlete opened up about his desire to be a sports analyst after he retires his famed “23” jersey. However, following sports agent Rich Paul asking Lebron about the sensitive nature of owning a team and speaking as a basketball analyst, the former Cavalier stated:
“I would much rather own a team before I talk….I want a team in Vegas.”
While the goal of NBA team ownership may seem financially lofty for some athletes, it seems money may not be a concern for Lebron. The self-proclaimed “King” was announced by Forbes earlier this year, as the first active basketball player to reach billionaire status. A feat that has only ever been achieved by former Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan, who was proclaimed a billionaire only after his NBA career ended.
Another NBA legend, former “Showtime Lakers” superstar Magic Johnson is one other athlete who has crept close to billionaire status. It was recently announced the retired basketball player lost his bid to purchase NFL team the Denver Bronco’s. Hip-hop icon Kanye West also put in an unsuccessful bid to buy the west coast team.

Should Lebron successfully secure a sin city based basketball team, it will only add to his number of non-sports business ventures. The Ohio native also owns The Spring Hill (production) Company, I Promise school, and a stake in Blaze Pizza franchises. Reportedly, the hoop star is also planning to add a medical center in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
