‘Buckhead Shore’ Star DJ Simmons Says Beyoncé Used To Be His Babysitter
‘Buckhead Shore’ star DJ Simmons reveals that before Beyonce became a mega star, she was once his babysitter!
DJ Simmons– who is the son of Grammy-winning music producer and songwriter Daryl Simmons–told sources Beyonce, 40, was very “sweet” and “nurturing” and hopes that one day, they can reconnect. He explained,
“Beyonce used to babysit me … she was sweet, caring, loving, giving and nurturing…I want to reach back out to her if I can. Hopefully this show makes me famous enough. But if not, I’ll keep shooting my shot.”
The reality star continued to gush over what it was like being around the musical superstar before she was famous. Simmons said,
“[My dad] signed Beyonce when she was 15 years old. She was singing with Destiny’s Child [but] they weren’t called Destiny’s Child at the time.”
DJ’s father Daryl Simmons, 65, was a big name in the music industry who worked with the production duo of L.A. Reid and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Simmons has written and produced songs for big names like Whitney Houston, TLC, Boyz ll Men and Toni Braxton to name a few.
DJ Simmons even recalled occasions when “Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland would sit at the house” with him to make sure he “was straight” when his parents would leave and go out to dinner. He added,
“So I can say Beyoncé was my babysitter.”
Simmos currently stars in “Buckhead Shore”–the latest “Jersey Shore” spinoff– which follows a group of friends as they spend the summer in Buckhead, Ga., a town less than eight miles away from Atlanta.
Unlike similar reality shows, the cast of “Buckhead Shore” are already established friends and know each other. According to reports, the cast will spend the summer months at a family lake house.
“Buckhead Shore” premiered Thursday (Jun.23) at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
