Tom Brady Clears Up Friendship W/ Donald Trump, Says The Media ‘Mischaracterized’ Their Relationship + Claims They Haven’t Spoken In Years

NFL legend Tom Brady recently revealed where he stands with his controversial pal – former President Donald Trump.

In a new interview, famed quarterback Tom Brady, 44, addressed his questionable friendship with Donald Trump, 76, after being asked if he still keeps in touch with the 45th president. Tom Brady responded:

“No. I haven’t talked to him in a lot of years.”

According to reports, Brady and Donald Trump’s friendship became a hot topic of interest by the media in 2015 after a photograph surfaced showing a “Make America Great Again” hat in Brady’s football locker. Shortly after that incident, the NFL superstar claimed that Trump personally sent the hat to him.

Prior to the MAGA hat getting spotted, Brady and Trump golfed together multiple times. When discussing the pair’s golf matches, Brady said:

“This was 17 or 18 years ago. I was so young. I got to go to a private golf course. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.”

The athlete commented on his seemingly close friendship with Trump and shared:

“I think [the press] just mischaracterized a lot. And my personality isn’t ever one to insult anybody. I have plenty of my own flaws. I’m not here to point out anyone else’s flaws.”

Brady continued:

“There are things that I agree with. There are things that I don’t. There are things I agree with my wife about. There are things that I don’t. I love her to death, but we don’t always see eye to eye. I don’t see eye to eye with anyone. And I’m not responsible for what other people say. I’m really responsible for what I say. So if people want to say things that I said or that I’m about, that’s up to them, and I’m not going to respond to all those things all the time either.”

Reportedly, Brady previously endorsed the former controversial president in 2017. When asked about the MAGA hat seen in his locker, he said the hat is a “nice keepsake” and that it would be “great” if Trump won the election. In addition, when Brady was asked if Trump has a shot at winning the general election, Brady added:

“I hope so. That would be great. There’d be a putting green on the White House lawn. I know that.”
