Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Comments About Women Being Raised To Be Men Garners Mixed Reactions: You Are Climbing The Corporate Ladder But We Are Losing Our Families

Bishop T.D. Jakes stood firm on acknowledging that women need men no matter what they say.

Recently, social media reacted to Bishop T.D Jakes’ lecture on some homes being broken because of women trying to prove they don’t need their men. Bishop T.D Jakes, born Thomas Dexter Jakes Sr., said:

“This breaks all sociological orders of the culture we’re living in now because we are raising up women to be men.”

He continued:

“And you are not applauded for your femininity. You are applauded in the contemporary society by how tough, rough, nasty, mean, aggressive, hateful, possessive you are, and you are climbing the corporate ladder but we are losing our families.”

The 65-year-old added:

“I know you can buy your own car, I know you can buy your own house, but until you create a need that I can pour into I have no place in your life. So stop coming home bragging to me about how much you don’t need me and wonder why I shy away.”

Social media was flooded with mixed reviews about Jakes ceremony. Some thought everything Jakes’ taught in his lesson was accurate.

Others thought the ceremony was wasn’t deep and Jakes is teaching women that they don’t have to be independent because they have a significant other.

Some reacted to the video saying that author and filmmaker’s sermon was something we all needed to hear, while others thought it was repetitive.
