Kevin Gates Addresses His Previous Comments On Why He Won’t Support Black Lives Matter: We Kill Each Other All Day, We Talk About Each Other All Day [VIDEO]
Kevin Gates recently took the time to shed some light on his stance against the Black Lives Matter movement.
In a new interview with DJ Akademiks, Louisiana rapper Kevin Gates, born Kevin Gilyard, spoke out against Black Lives Matter and said that he doesn’t believe in the movement because blacks continuously kill each other on a daily basis.

During the sit-down, Kevin Gates doesn’t hold back when expressing his absence to the political and social movement. He began with,
“They got mad when I said ‘I don’t support Black Lives Matter.’ ‘Cause who they matter to? We kill each all day. We talk about each other all day. You know who talk about me the most on the internet? N*gg*s. N*gg*s. You know what’s worse than a n*gg*? Two of them.”
The 32-year-old entrepreneur continued,
“Make you don’t want to be a n*gg*. […] It be n*gg*s my own people that look like me. Talk about me like a dog, kick me when I’m down.”
Gates added,
“I don’t look at color and see race no more. I see real and fake. That’s it.”

This isn’t the first time the Baton Rouge artist has spoken out against the Black Lives Matter movement. In 2016, Gates posted a 60-second rant to his official Instagram account about how, in his view, it doesn’t make sense to complain about police brutality or racially motivated violence against black people because of black on black crime. In the since-deleted Instagram video, Gates shared,
“We kill each other. I’m talking about we lay up under each other’s cars, lay behind each other’s houses then whip by, boom boom, kill everybody in the car…We kill each other, but as soon as a white boy kills one of us, everybody go to hoopin’ and hollerin’ and all that old stupid-*ss sh*t …That’s bullsh*t. When you stand for something, you’ve got the stand for it all the way, not half way. I said it before, and I’ll say it again, and f*ck who don’t like that. You know what’s worse than a n*gg*? Another one.”

The outspoken singer continued,
“[People say] ‘he should’ve let him live.’ Yeah, so we could kill him. N*gg*s hate on n*gg*s. N*gg*s steal from n*gg*s. N*gg*s kill n*gg*s. Help your brother, man, don’t hurt your brother. F*ck you doin’?”
Prior to the deleted post in question, Gates said in an interview that he agrees with actress Stacey Dash, who has stirred up controversy expressing her views on the topic. He said,
“They were like, ‘Stacey Dash said that it shouldn’t be no BET. Everybody should be Americans.’ And I was like, ‘If she said that, then I feel like I agree with that because there’s only two types of people in life: real people and fake people.’”
