Idris Elba Wants His Suicide Squad Character ‘Bloodsport’ To Battle ‘Superman’ Onscreen: It Needs To Happen

Idris Elba may be returning as ‘Bloodsport’ before we know it.

Recently, The Suicide Squad’s Idris Elba said that he would love to see his assassin character ‘Bloodsport’ versus DC Comic superhero ‘Superman.’ Idris Elba shared:

“I would definitely like to tell the Superman story. There’s no doubt.

The 49-year-old added:

“Bloodsport versus Superman. It needs to happen.”

The actor reflected on key information about his character in The Suicide Squad, which was the backstory of ‘Bloodsport.’ The fictional character landed himself behind bars for using a kryptonite bullet to put Superman in the Intensive Care Unit. ‘Bloodsport’ and other members of ‘Task Force X’ survived the fight versus ‘Starro’ in the film. The Suicide Squad concluded with ‘Bloodsport’ blackmailing Amanda Waller into freeing his team and the assassins location in the DC cinematic universe can be seen.

Elba recently premiered his new movie in New York, Beast, where he appears to battle a deadly lion. Beast is about a father, Dr. Nate Samuels, who takes his two daughters on an African safari after their mother died. The family is later hunted by an enraged lion forcing revenge on the trespassers that killed his pride. The writer of the movie, Ryan Engle said:

“It’s a monster movie, but it’s kind of the anti-monster movie.”

Ryan Engle added:

“You have a unique situation where the hero and the villain, the villain being the lion, share the same desire to protect their family. It’s a really cool symbiotic relationship where they have to fight it out, but they’re going for the same thing.”

Elba shared his thoughts on the lion’s position in the movie. He said:

“The lion is not the most dangerous in Africa. I think there are different types of dangers out there.”

He added:

“You ever face a hippopotamus? That’s one of them for sure.”
