Real Housewives of Potomac’s Wendy Osefo Reacts To A Drink Being Thrown In Her Face

As fans are still reeling from the release of The Real Housewives Of Potomac season 7 trailer, it looks like some of the cast are calling out viewers for being biased.

During the season 7 trailer, it appears Dr. Wendy Osefo, 38, gets into a heated argument with cast member Mia Thornton, 37. As reported earlier this year, Thornton asked for prayers via instagram after revealing some health issues related to cancer. However, Dr. Wendy seemingly suspects some untruth going on and gets into a heated discussion with Thornton. At some point, Thornton gets upset and throws a drink on Dr. Wendy.

Shortly after the trailer was released, a Twitter user made a comment seemingly pointing to possible colorism amongst the cast and fans being biased towards the light skin women on the show. They wrote:

“They’re already saying Wendy deserved a drink thrown at her. The laps people run to defend these light skin women on this show #rhop”

Just a few minutes later, Wendy Osefo reposted the fans message and shared her sentiments on the matter. Wendy said,

“I vividly remember the outrage when when people falsely assumed I threw a glass. Now, we all see the truth and magically the outrage disappears. How convenient.”

Castmate and friend, Candiace Dillard-Bassett tweeted a message of her own prior to Wendy’s and seemingly had similar sentiments about colorism and biased being displayed on the show and amongst the viewers. Candiace said,

“I’m also excited to see what (brown paper bag) acrobatics are used to defend certain deplorable behaviors by certain sects of the viewership.”

While some fans agreed with Wendy Osefo’s comments, others strongly disagreed and felt the situation has nothing to do with color. One Twitter user wrote,

“I’m sorry you have to deal with this queen.”

While another person disagreed and said,

“Is it because of colorism ? Or something else ?”

The seventh season of the Bravo reality series follows the lives of recurring cast members Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Dr. Wendy Osefo and Mia Thornton, and will also feature an appearance from season 1 and 2 castmate Charisse Jackson Jordan. Tension quickly rose in the three minute trailer with cheating allegations, rumors, and drinks flying all around.
