NBA Star Kyrie Irving Speaks Out Against NYC Covid Vaccine Mandate: It’s The Biggest Violations Of Human Rights!
NBA star Kyrie Irving is speaking out against the Covid-19 vaccine mandate, calling it “one of the biggest violations of human rights in history.”
About an hour and a half after New York Mayor Eric Adams told reporters he’s ending the private employer vaccine mandate but keeping it for city workers, one of the most vocal naysayers against the vaccine quickly objected.
On Tuesday (Sept. 20) Kyrie Irving took to Twitter to express his disdain for the Mayor’s new rule. He wrote:
“If I can work and be unvaccinated, then all of my brothers and sisters who are also unvaccinated should be able to do the same, without being discriminated against, vilified, or fired.”
Kyrie continued,
“This enforced Vaccine/Pandemic is one the biggest violations of HUMAN RIGHTS in history.”

Later that month, the Brooklyn Nets star was finally able to play in home games again after being barred from playing in his teams arena because of local protocols mandating that professional sports players be vaccinated. However, that changed on Thursday, March 24, when New York City Mayor Eric Adams reversed that mandate.
When previously asked about his vaccination status, Irving refused to comment, explaining:
“Honestly, I like to keep that stuff private… I would love to just keep that private and handle it the right way with my team and go forward together with a plan.”
He also said one’s personal choices should “be understood and respected.”
