Young Thug’s Attorney Claims The Rapper Is Rotting In Jail: It Is Unjust

Apparently, Young Thug isn’t doing too well as he awaits trail for his RICO case.

According to Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steele, the YSL rapper is going through unfortunate circumstances while incarcerated. As previously reported, Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williamswas arrested back in May after being accused of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO). Brian Steele claims Thug is “rotting” behind bars. Brian Steele shared:

“It is unjust that Young Thug rots in the County Jail and has not yet been provided complete discovery by the prosecution and is being required to wait on the appointment of counsel for co-indictees.”

Steele added:

“This Honorable Court must intervene to prevent this injustice.”

Thugga’s trial was initially set to start in January until prosecutors requested to push it back to March. Prosecutors stated:

“It is unconscionable that the District Attorney’s Office did not provide the Court system with notice that there would be a great need for appointed counsel on an upcoming case well in advance of the return of the indictment.”

Steele’s frustration may stem from the fact that Gunna was recently denied bail on Thursday (Oct. 13). During the proceedings, the prosecution used potential witness intimation as a reason to deny the YSL member bond. The prosecution said:

“One of the other co-defendants asked that the defendant Kitchens be made aware that he would be willing to wack somebody for him.”

Thug was denied bond back in August for a third time during a hearing in which his attorney suggested that the rapper is the subject of a law enforcement vendetta referring back to Lil Wayne’s tour bus drive-by shooting in 2015. The 31-year-old’s trial is set for March 2023.
