Tekashi Shows Support To Kanye West Amid His Recent Controversy + Claims He Turned Down The Chance To Work On ‘Donda’ Album: I Love What He Stands For, He Does What The F*ck He Wants

While the world seems to be canceling Kanye West, it appears the rapper and fashion designer may have a friend in his corner.

During a recent episode of controversial media personality Andrew Tate’s podcast, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was asked about Kanye West. The Brooklyn rapper revealed that Kanye asked him to be a part of the Donda 2 project, however, he ultimately declined.

He explained,

“We stayed at the NoBu Hotel in Malibu…He stayed in a hotel a block away from his house. He was just working on music but it was nothing that I wanted to work on. I respect his creative genius but I’m never going to do something I don’t want to do.”

As far as his thoughts on Kanye’s recent backlash over his antisemitic comments, 6ix9ine said he respects the controversial rapper’s stance and supports him.

“I think he’s standing on business. I love Kanye. I love what he stand for and he does what the f*ck he wants. When there’s billionaires, trillionaires, millionaires in your ear and they are saying, ‘Kanye this is not the respectable thing.’ He worked himself so high that he doesn’t have to bow down to a dollar.”

As previously reported, Kanye West has been facing a domino effect of terminated partnerships in recent weeks due to his controversial comments about George Floyd’s death, Black people, and his intent to go “death con 3” on Jewish people. The 45-year-old lost his billionaire status due to Adidas terminating their fashion collaboration — Adidas Yeezy — with him. In a statement, the famed sports brand said:

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

Balenciaga also announced on Thursday (Oct. 20) that they have decided to call it quits with the Chicago native. The luxury fashion house said that they would no longer be working on projects with Kanye and released in a statement:

“Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist.”

In addition to the big corporations dropping him, Kanye is truly receiving backlash in almost every aspect of his career. As previously reported, the Chicago rapper’s Donda Academy basketball team will no longer be able to participate in a major tournament due to the recent controversy. According to reports, the Scholastic Play-By-Play Classics announced team Donda has been removed from this season’s schedule, claiming Kanye West’s,

“words and actions violate our values as a company and a country, and what we seek to ensure at all of our events — a spirit of diversity, sportsmanship, inclusion, equity and mutual respect.”

Although he stood firm in his anti-Semitic rhetoric over the past few weeks, Kanye recently apologized to the Jewish community in a recent interview on the Lex Fridman Podcast. He said,

“I’m sorry for hurting you as a Jewish person. I’m sorry for the way that made you feel. And I’m sorry for the entire population of a race that I feel is actually my brothers.”
