Gucci Mane Drops Baby Racks From 1017 Records One Day After Signing The Rapper
Rising rapper Baby Racks might have just made history for having the shortest record deal ever!
Gucci Mane has officially dropped his new artist, Baby Racks, just one day after signing him to his 1017 record label.
On Wednesday (Nov. 2), Gucci Mane took to Twitter to announce that Baby Racks was no longer signed to his label. He wrote:
“Congratulations to @Babyracks1017 first artist to get signed and dropped in a day ?that dude is not signed to 1017.”
Shortly after, Baby Racks responded to Gucci Mane’s post and sarcastically thanked him. He said,
“Congratulations to babyracks appreciate the video appreciate flying me and my team out I appreciate that check Atlantic records sent thank you Gucci. Ima free agent now youngboy get at me @YoGotti wassup @Jeezy holla at me @qcm_p wassup wit it @RickRoss wassup@gucci1017.”
While it’s unclear why Baby Racks got the axe, the move came less than a day after the Atlanta rapper said he refuses to go to Houston following the death of Takeoff, and roughly 20 minutes after he posted something referencing the Migos‘ hit song “Versace.”
“I’m definitely not fw houston after that. DON’T BOOK ME CAUSE BABY RACKS AINT COMING.”
He later added,
“VERSACE VERSACE WE BROUGHT THAT SH*T BACK AND YOU N**GAS IS LAME.”
Baby Racks later responded to a social media user who was seemingly entertained by Gucci Mane dropping him. The user wrote:
“Wop [Gucci] is so f**ing funny.”
“Them contracts funny too,”
Seemingly taking a dig at Gucci.
Gucci Mane and Baby Racks formed a relationship earlier this year when Guwop reached out to the young rapper on Instagram. Just last month, Baby Racks released the song and video for the single “Look Ma I Did It,” which features Gucci Mane.
There is no official word on what put this firing in motion but it’s clear Gucci Mane is no longer rocking with Baby Racks.
