Nick Cannon’s busy schedule has been hijacked by a pneumonia diagnosis.
On Saturday (Dec. 4), the “Drumline” star revealed that he was hospitalized with the condition. In his Instagram post, Nick Cannon shared a photo of himself lying down next to a bed monitor with this message:
“Okay, so I guess I’m not Superman… I promised myself I would never be back at this place again… But this is a great lesson to take care of YOU or YOU won’t be able to take care of everyone else.”
To his point, the father of 12 (possibly soon-to-be 13) is usually busy taking care of a lot of other obligations. For years, he has juggled several demanding hosting gigs that include Fox’s The Masked Singer, MTV’s Wildin’ Out, and radio shows. In addition to that, he continues to create new music and develop other artists. Who knows what else the creative has in the works on top of that.

Although this looks like a setback for the 42-year-old, Nick Cannon sees it as an opportunity to get some much-needed R&R. He assured fans that he will be back in action soon.
“don’t trip though, I don’t need any well wishes or prayers, just some solid rest and I will be back on the journey to becoming stronger than ever… it’s just pneumonia, nothing I can’t handle. Crazy thing is, last night we was just rocking a sold out crowd at Madison square garden in front of thousands of fans, now I’m all alone in a tiny hospital room. Life is definitely a rollercoaster! #LupusWarrior”
As far as the public is aware, the 42-year-old has been seriously ill a few times in his adult life. In 2012, he was first hospitalized for kidney failure, then for blood clots two weeks later. Lupus caused both health scares, a disease he didn’t know he had at the time. The disease later caused more issues that landed him in the hospital in 2015 and 2016.

Back in January, The Real Husbands of Hollywood alum opened about this battle with the disease on his now-defunct talk show. Nick told the audience,
“Ten years ago, I experienced a sudden and mysterious illness that almost took my life.”

He also shared footage from his documentary, Ncredible Health Hustle. The series followed his health journey from diagnosis to recovery.
As Nick once again addressed the audience, he said,
“God’s plans are always bigger than our problems, so, what was once an issue, I can now say, ‘Look what we went through.’ It was hard. It was a struggle, but we made it through.”
Get well soon Nick!
