Gabrielle Union Confirms She’s ‘Developing’ An ‘East Compton Clovers’ Sequel To Original ‘Bring It On’ Film
Gabrielle Union has been listening and fans of the cult classic film “Bring It On” are getting a sequel dedicated to the East Compton Clovers!
As you may already know, actress Gabrielle Union, 50, played Isis in the original “Bring It On,” which premiered over 20 years ago in 2000. Despite there being multiple installments within the cheerleading franchise, there has yet to be a follow-up that directly connects to the first “Bring It On” or one that gives more insight into the East Compton Clovers — the rival cheerleading team featured in the original movie. However, it looks like that’s all about to change. During a recent interview, Gabrielle Union revealed she’s creating a movie centered around the cheerleaders at the fictional East Compton High School. She said,
“We’ve been developing a sequel that centers on the [Clovers].”
She added,
“We are working on it.”

Reportedly, none of the stars from the original “Bring It On” have yet to appear in any of the film’s reboots and it’s unclear if they will reprise their roles, in any capacity, for Union’s upcoming project. It may come as no surprise that Union is working on a “Bring It On” film. Last August she hinted that she was bringing the franchise back. In a reply to a tweet celebrating when the first “Bring It On” dropped, she said,
“Hmmmm so Isis might have a teenager”

In 2022, Union also revealed that she had to shoot fake scenes for the film’s trailer to make viewers think the East Compton cheerleaders received more camera time than they actually did. She shared,
“Storytime! So, we shot these snippets that you see here after the movie wrapped because once test audiences saw the movie, they wanted more of the clovers. So we shot these, only for the trailer, not the movie, to make people think we were in the movie more than we were. The end.”
