Dame Dash Says Jay-Z Offered Him $1.5M For His Stake In Roc-A-Fella: That’s Some Disrespectful Sh*t

Dame Dash wasn’t too fond of Jay-Z’s initial offer for his stake in Roc-A-Fella.

In a recent interview, Dame Dash opened up about his decision to leap into the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and what led him to try to sell his stake in Roc-A-Fella.

As you may recall, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder tried to sell his stake in the company, including his shares in Jay-Z’s debut album “Reasonable Doubt.” It appears Jay-Z wasn’t on board with the business move and as a result sued Dame Dash.

During his interview, Dame explained the flaw that led him to try to sell his stake in Roc-A-Fella prior to Jay’s lawsuit. He said that Jay, 53, actually offered him a sum of money before he tried to enter the NFT space. Dame, 51, said,

“I was offered a certain amount of money for my interest in Roc-A-Fella Inc., which owns Reasonable Doubt. They offered me like $1.5M – Jay-Z. And I was like, ‘That’s some disrespectful sh*t. So, I guess I gotta sell it someplace else.’”

Subsequently, Dame spoke to his cousin who connected him with attorney Ronald Sweeney. Both of them suggested that the entrepreneur explore other options, such as NFTs, which could lead to a bigger payout than what Jay offered. Dame added,

“I got the lawsuit – ‘cause again, I got accused of doing something I didn’t to stop me from doing it, and then everybody just went missing. So I had to deal with the lawsuit on my own.”

The record executives reportedly reached a settlement in the case in June of 2022.
