Justin Bieber Defends Frank Ocean After Musician Is Blasted For Chaotic Coachella Performance: ‘It Made Me Want To Keep Going & Get Better As An Artist’
Justin Bieber started off the week by giving Frank Ocean his flowers.
On Monday (Apr. 17) Justin Bieber took to Instagram to announce that, despite what everyone else is saying, he enjoyed fellow singer Frank Ocean’s Coachella performance over the weekend. Alongside an image of Frank Ocean on a concert screen from the event, Justin Bieber, 29, penned:
“I was blown away by Frank Oceans Coachella performance. His artistry is simply unmatched, his style, his taste, his voice, his attention to detail.”
He continued,
“I was deeply moved. It made me want to keep going and get better as an artist. He continues to set the bar high and gave me a night I will never forget! Thanks Frank.”

As you may recall, fans flooded social media with negative reviews after Frank Ocean’s headlining Coachella performance on Sunday night (Apr. 16). As previously reported, Frank — real name Christopher Francis Ocean — was scheduled to perform at 10 p.m but the songwriter didn’t hit the stage until minutes before 11 p.m.
Due to his late appearance, he was only able to get through 14 songs before abruptly ending his set because of a city curfew. The 35-year-old addressed the show’s awkward ending and said:
“Guys, I’m being told it’s curfew, so that’s the end of the show. Thank you so much.”
Apparently, the show went left before the performance even started. Reportedly, during the first five minutes of the “Novacane” singer’s set, Frank and his musicians were intentionally hidden by people walking silently in front of them. Reportedly, the walking people were hired ice skaters who were supposed to be on an ice rink. However, prior to the start of the show, Frank reportedly decided he wanted something different and demanded the ice rink be removed.
Frank is set to headline again this upcoming weekend for Coachella. Hopefully, fans will enjoy his second performance more!
