Robert De Niro Welcomes His 7th Child At 79

Robert De Niro is now a father of seven!

During a recent interview with ET Canada, the 79-year-old Oscar winner revealed that he has welcomed a seventh child. While discussing parenting and his latest film, About My Father, De Niro let the cat out the bag.

In his conversation about parenting, Robert De Niro said,

“I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice. And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.”

When the reporter mentioned De Niro’s six children, he corrected her and said,

“Seven, actually. I just had a baby.”

Robert De Niro didn’t offer any further details about his newborn baby or his partner.

The legendary actor has six children from previous relationships. De Niro and his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, are parents to daughter Drena, 51, and son Raphael, 46. In 1995, he welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 27, with his former girlfriend, model and actress Toukie Smith. De Niro also shares son Elliot, 24, and daughter Helen Grace, 11, with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.

As to be expected, social media had a field day with this news and couldn’t believe “The Godfather” actor was a new dad.

One user wrote,

“His WHAT? At the age of WHAT?”

Another person said,

“What child bearing age woman is bumping uglies with Robert Dinero at his Great Big Age?!?!”

Contrary to what many believe, Robert De Niro doesn’t consider himself to be a “cool dad.” He told ET Canada,

“I’m okay. You know, my kids disagree with me at times, and they’re respectful. My daughter, who’s 11, she gives me grief sometimes and I argue with her. I adore her, but, you know. And my youngest now, that’ll be more to come. But, that’s what it is.”
