Akbar V Speaks On Decision To Get Plastic Surgery: ‘I Thought Long & Hard About Sharing These Videos Because Of How Controversial Surgery Has Been Lately’

Akbar V has decided to share her plastic surgery journey after recently getting a breast lift, breast implants, and extra skin removed.

On Monday (June 12) musical artist Akbar V, 33, took to Instagram and opened up about her cosmetic procedure with Atlanta surgeon Dr. Curves. In the uploaded post, the former “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star shared footage of herself before undergoing surgery.

In the caption of the post, Akbar V admitted that she thought long about sharing the procedure online due to how “controversial surgery has been lately.” She wrote,

“So you guys I thought long and hard about sharing these videos because of how controversial surgery has been lately but I really wanted to bring you guys along my journey which I been told you guys I would post my whole procedure and vlog it…”

Akbar continued,

“So here it is my first day of surgery with @drcurves I had a Breast Lift with some NEW implants that costed me an extra coin and I had the extra skin on my back removed. HUNNY I AM SNATCHEDDDD. It appears that the reality TV star’s hesitancy to share her surgery journey is (seemingly) related to the controversy surrounding the tragic passing of media personality Ms. Jacky Oh.

As previously reported, BET announced that entrepreneur/businesswoman Ms. Jacky Oh, real name Jacklyn Smith, passed away on May 31. At the time of the announcement, the family asked for privacy and opted not to share details surrounding her cause of death.

However, many have speculated that Jacky’s passing is due to a “mommy makeover” procedure. A since-deleted Instagram post revealed that prior to her death, Jacky went to Miami for a surgical procedure with Dr. Zachary Okhah. Internet users discovered that the plastic surgeon had been at the center of several lawsuits, suing women who claim he botched their procedures. Police are reportedly still investigating the matter.

The “Wild N’ Out” alum welcomed three children with longtime partner and comedian D.C. Young Fly, 31. The pair’s youngest child, a son, was born in July of last year.
