Producer Jason Martin Claims Nicki Minaj Stole The “Barbie World” Idea From Him And Took Saweetie Off The Song For Ice Spice

Nicki Minaj is being accused of stealing.

Producer Jason Martin is accusing Nicki Minaj of stealing the “Barbie World” song idea from him.

According to Martin, Saweetie was originally supposed to be on the track but was replaced by Ice Spice.

Jason Martin took to his social media and shared his frustrations with his followers.

He said,

“We crafted a record that was sent over to Nicki to hop on to submit to the Barbie soundtrack. She said she was going to do it….All of a sudden a new version was created. Yes, it’s a sample, you can do what you want. But n**a, you can’t hear one thing, say you’re gonna do this then go do your version.”

He added,

“It ain’t happening like that. Anybody that’s in this business knows that that’s not how this works.”

According to Billboard, ““Barbie World” simultaneously serves as the latest single from Barbie: The Album, the accompanying soundtrack to Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (in theaters July 21).” It will also serve as the second collaboration between Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice. The song is a sample from Aqua’s 90’s hit single “Barbie Girl.”

“Barbie World,” will be released on all platforms on Friday, June 23. The Barbie soundtrack also features singles such as Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” Karol G and Aldo Ranks’ “Watati” and PinkPantheress’ “Angel.” It will also feature contributions from Lizzo, Khalid, Fifty Fifty, Kali, Gayle, Ava Max, and Ryan Gosling, who stars as Ken in the highly anticipated film.

Nicki Minaj has yet to respond to Jason Martin’s accusations.
