Lizzo Privates Twitter & Threatens To Quit Music After Receiving Harsh Comments From Internet Trolls Who Continue To Criticise Her Weight: ‘I’m Literally Just Trying To Live & Be Healthy’
Lizzo is still, unfortunately, dealing with internet trolls.
Famed musician Lizzo, 35, has been vocal over the years about the online bashing she frequently deals with because of her weight. Last summer the “2 Be Loved” artist addressed critics who don’t like her simply because she’s a plus-size entertainer. She said,
“I’ve found that I’m always going to receive some sort of backlash or criticism whenever I put myself in a public space, just because of who I am and the way I choose to exist.”
In a separate interview, Lizzo touched on her goal to change the current beauty standards within the entertainment industry. She said that her body,
“may not be one person’s ideal body type just like, say, Kim Kardashian might not be someone’s ideal, but she’s a body icon and has created a modern-day beauty standard. And what I’m doing is stepping into my confidence and my power to create my own beauty standard.”

Lizzo
Despite Lizzo’s best efforts to show that there’s no one way to be healthy, she has, once again, found herself at the center of an internet debate about her appearance. Today (May 31) the Grammy-Award-winning singer fired off a series of tweets slamming naysayers who shared unwarranted harsh remarks about her body. She said,
“I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of sh*t I see about me on a daily basis. It’s really starting to make me hate the world. Then someone in the comments said I eat ‘lots of fast food.’ I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bullsh*t.”
In a separate tweet, she continued,
“Y’all really need to touch grass…
I’m not trying to BE fat. I’m not trying to BE smaller… I’m literally just trying to live and be healthy.
This is what my body looks like even when I’m eating super clean and working out!
Yall speak on sh*t y’all know NOTHING ABOUT and I’m starting to get heated.”

When a fan suggested that Lizzo stop searching her name online as a way to protect her mental health, she replied,
“I literally NEVER search my name this stuff just comes up on my TL & my
FYP it’s wild. I swear I just wanna look at dance videos and science news and this shit comes in every day…”
Before putting her account on private Lizzo added that the hate comments make her consider walking away from her music career.
“Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F*CKING FARM…”
