Lil Durk Seemingly Denies Reports That An Active Shooter Ended His Recent Concert In Chicago + Addresses Fans Who Used The Chaotic Moment To Loot His Merchandise: ‘Tag Me So I Can Repost Y’all Crazy A**’

Rap star Lil Durk was recently rushed off the stage near the end of his show.

Reportedly, the Chicago native’s concert this past Saturday (August 12th) ended abruptly after police received false reports of an active shooter.

Lil Durk, real name Durk Derrick Banks, 30, was reportedly performing his second of a two night show at a packed out United Center in his hometown. The concert series is reportedly the musician’s first time headlining a show since he took some time to cater to his health earlier this year. While fans were enjoying the concert, with several of them sharing footage from the night online, things took a sour turn after the rapper was removed from the stage and audience members rushed to the exits due to a false alarm that shots had rang off.

CPD Officers Respond To Active Shooter Reports

Reportedly, authorities stated they chose to evacuate the arena due to “safety concerns” after getting several, though unconfirmed, calls that a shooting had taken place. After further investigation, however, CPD reportedly confirmed that there was no gunfire at or during the concert. While a full police report has not yet been released, a spokesperson for the venue reportedly released a statement on the matter, writing:

“We are working closely with authorities to investigate all incidents from last evening at the WGCI Summer Jam Show…It became apparent for all involved that ending the show early was in everyone’s best interest as the safety of our guests and employees is a priority.”

Adding:

“We are thankful that initial incident reports were false, and guests exited the facility safely.”

Videos of the chaos that ensued have since surfaced online, with footage showing CPD officers with riffles urging people to exit the location. Other videos show concert goers taking full advantage of the disruption, opting to loot several items from merchandise stands.

Subsequent the disarray, Durk addressed the situation on his instagram stories. Seemingly doubling down that there was no shooting that took place, the “All My Life” artist wrote as a caption over a picture from the night:

“Don’t believe the hype we bigger then big thank you Chicago till next time”

And added:

“and who all stole the merchandise tag me so I can repost y’all crazy a**”
